Day 2-4: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. After landing at a bush airstrip, a guide will be there to meet you and drive you to the Lewa House, your home away from home for the next 3 nights. Delight in a mini game drive en route to the lodge spotting Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe.

The accommodations at Lewa House are in the form of cottage-style rooms which are spread out along the hillside, all looking to the expanse of wilderness to the north. Three of the original thatched family cottages still exist, each comprising of two en-suite rooms and a large shared veranda. The four recently added single-room cottages are built with sustainable ecological principles in mind while still being exceptionally comfortable and spacious, with wonderful views across the surrounding landscape. The houses are rustic, with traditional makuti (thatched swamp grass) roofs and a blend of traditional relaxed ambiance and modern comfort. Guests at Lewa House have almost exclusive access to an area teeming with exciting wildlife. Seventeen percent of the world's endangered Grevy's zebras, for instance, live here.

Meals: B, L, D | Accommodation: Lewa House

Day 5-7: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your maiden schedule flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. After landing a lodge representative will meet you and drive you through the grassy plains of the Mara to your luxury Mara Toto Camp for the next three nights.

Mara Toto is safari chic with five airy, spacious canvas tents, each with a bathroom where you can enjoy piping-hot water from huge brass "safari showers" while you sing along with a chorus of hippos lazing nearby. The camp is set down low, hidden from lights and noise and any sign of mankind. Under the grove of ebony trees its humble main area is lit by lanterns. This is a camp with a simple design but plenty of details to supply every last comfort.

The Mara forms part of the same ecosystem as the Serengeti in Tanzania. It is here where nature shows her great abundance and graphically demonstrates the meaning of the circle of life, the Great Migration. Following the rains, between July and October over 1 million Wildebeest can pass through the Mara grazing on the new grass. Rain, as we know, is very unpredictable, and as the migration follows the rains, this too can be unpredictable. The Mara with its resident herds and large predator populations is a year round safari destination, it always promises an exceptional wildlife experience.

After lunch, there will be some time to settle in and head out on an afternoon game drive. Campi ya Kanzi is part of the Maasai Wilderness Trust, located on a private ranch and composed of luxury tented cottages and tented suites for traveling guests. Mount Kilimanjaro serves as the backdrop for the specatacular Kampi Ya Kanzi, which lies on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills in the Amboseli. The camp lies in the heart of the Kuku Group Ranch, which is owned by 3000 Maasai. There are 8 ensuite luxury tented cottages, all raised under thatch. Part of this leg of the tour is the contribution of a USD 100 conservation fee per day, which goes into the Masaai conservation trust.
